While many see mowing the lawn as a chore or pesky inconvenience getting in the way of other plans, Tim and Greg Fiske loved working outside and helping their neighbors during summer vacation. The young brothers took this opportunity to establish Fiske Brothers Lawn Service and launched the business by purchasing a bright yellow 1964 Dodge pickup truck. With their trusty lawn mowers in the back, they began driving through the neighborhood and distributing flyers door to door. This small, summer venture quickly took off, and the brothers found themselves mowing more than 40 lawns a week.

Tim and Greg continued the business throughout high school and college, but after graduating they parted ways to pursue separate careers. “I always considered Fiske Brothers to be a happy and rewarding time in my life, but Greg was already in law school and I felt like I needed to move forward in my career,” Tim explained.
While the brothers progressed on their separate paths, they always joked about Fiske Brothers Lawn Service and what it could have been. They laughed about having the biggest lawn care company in Colorado, and over the years the conversation developed a more serious and meaningful tone. Greg stopped practicing law and Tim soon left his management position at Eastern Mountain Sports, and in 2002 they officially established Fiske Brothers Yardworks.
Returning to their grassroots, Tim and Greg once again began establishing a client base and working directly with customers. As the business grew, they purchased a garage, hired a core staff of eight people, and invested in new trucks and equipment to continue providing outstanding yard care throughout the community.
"We always want to remain true to our original message,” Tim said. “We are passionate about lawn care, and we strive to understand our customers and their yards and ultimately build a lawn that is healthy and beautiful.”
